Homeless man lifted whilst inside tent remains in stable condition – Taoiseach confirms




The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has revealed that a homeless man who was seriously injured after his tent was lifted by rotator last month is in stable condition in hospital.

Speaking to RTÉ’s Today with Sean O’Rourke programme, the Taoiseach said that he has been made aware that the man is sustained serious injuries, but he is in stable condition in hospital.

The Taoiseach who says he regrets such an incident occurred, also revealed that a housing plan has been put in place for the man.

He added that Waterways Ireland and Dublin City Council are reviewing the incident in an effort to ensure that such an incident won’t occur again.

The Taoiseach’s comments come the man was lifted whilst he was inside his tent which was located on Wilton Terrace and Leeson Street junction near the Grand Canal on January 14th.
