The coldest week in decades and homelessness still on the rise as Government stands idly by

The official figure of homeless people across Ireland now stands at 9,000, the highest ever recorded.

The unofficial figure is probably much higher, however, as many may be dwelling in friends or relatives’ spare rooms or couches.

The Government meanwhile stands idle and presides over this humanitarian crisis during the worst blizzards to blight the country in decades.
