Let the battle commence: Over 2,000 people register their interest in Dublin’s Northside vs Southside snowball fight

The snow may have arrived and for some people the adverse weather conditions could mean they have the day off work.

However as everyone will enjoy the day off, the wintery conditions can’t help but bring out the kid inside of us, and this statement has been made all the more true as one group of people has issued a challenge of sorts to Dublin’s residents.

In a clever Facebook post North Dublin Services have challenged both Northside and Southside residents to take part in am unofficial snowball fight later today.

In the humerous post which has already gained the interest of 2,000 Dublin residents the group have jokingly called on people to meet on O’Connell Street Bridge at 3pm this afternoon to settle the battle once and for all.

The post reads as follows: “North v South in a vicious snowball fight to the death! Your chance to crack some 90 mile per hour curve balls off of southsiders’ foreheads!! Who’s in?”

“Please note that this is an unofficial event however there may be rogue snowballers loitering the streets and we may put snowball snipers in place on the day to absolutely lash any southsider out of it that tries to cross O’Connell Bridge so cross at your own peril… you have been warned!”
