Muslim terrorists in Egypt have attacked a bus carrying Christian worshippers from a remote Coptic monastery killing at least eight and wounding 13 more.
The Washington Post reported that the Coptic Christian Archbishop Makarious of Minya confirmed the pilgrims were attacked while returning from a visit to Saint Samuel the Confessor Monastery.
Six of those murdered belonged to a single family.
An Islamic State affiliate in Egypt has claimed responsibility for the atrocity.
As in most countries with Muslim majorities, Egypt’s Christian and other religious minorities regularly face violence and discrimination. In Egypt attacks on the Coptic community are common but have been at a minimum since January.
According to the UN Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world, the UK Express reported.
