A 7-yr-old boy has sustained serious head injuries after he fell from a rollercoaster at Lightwater Valley. The boy is said to now be in a ‘critical condition’ in hospital.
The young boy fell some 15 feet from the Twister ride at the theme park in North Yorkshire. Earlier, authorities had said that the boy’s injuries were said not to be life-threatening and he was conscious when he was airlifted to hospital. But today, North Yorkshire Police provided an update on his condition and said that tragically the little boy is now in a critical condition after deteriorating overnight.
The boy was on holiday with his parents before the incident happened around 11.30am. Witnesses recalled hearing screams before seeing a child on the floor.
It’s understood that the boy’s parents are keeping a vigil by his bedside and that a major investigation is underway into how the boy fell from the ride.
