Hostility towards migrants simply doesn’t represent Ireland, says Leo Varadkar

The Taoiseach seems to know what’s best for everyone in this country and appears to be able to speak on everyone’s behalf, too.

Leo Varadkar has condemned the so-called alleged “arson attack” on a hotel in Rooskey where migrants were due to be housed.

It’s understood that the fire broke out at the Shannon Key West hotel in Rooskey on Thursday night where a number of Syrian migrants were shortly due to be housed.

Fire services attended the scene at 8:15pm and got the blaze under control. It’s not yet known how it got started.

However, it’s understood from a local who informed The Liberal that extensive damage has been done to the hotel and that it will more than likely be unfit for purpose for migrants to stay there in now.

A major garda investigation is now said to be underway to determine the cause of the blaze with a distinct possibility that 2 people broke into the premises and purposely started a fire in the foyer of the hotel reception area but this has not been officially confirmed.

Meanwhile, Leo Varadkar said that if indeed it was an arson attack that it is completely unacceptable and that hostility to migrants doesn’t represent Ireland.
