Hot weather to last until at least Friday with temperatures forecast to reach 30c

It’s arguably been Ireland’s greatest ever summer weather-wise with temperatures soaring right up to 30c over the weekend. People up and down the country have been out sunbathing all weekend with sunscreen needed from the blast of sunshine, and the good news is that it’s set to continue.

Ireland’s summer spell looks set to continue next week as forecasters say the high temperatures we’ve experienced over the past few days will last until Friday.

In what is considered a rarity Ireland saw highs of 29C on Saturday and according to latest forecasts temperatures could go even higher in the middle of next week.

According to Met Eireann some places could experience highs of 30C on Wednesday as the warm weather front which came up from the Azores looks set to linger over the country.

The national forecaster also say temperatures are expected to exceed 25C in most places for the rest of the week and it will be largely dry throughout.
