The hospital is located on Grenville Place near Bachelor’s Quay, on the outskirts of Cork city centre, reports Breaking News.

Hospital management confirmed that the A&E department has closed to allow for essential maintenance works and to protect the safety of both patients and staff.

In a statement, the hospital advised that anyone in need of urgent medical care should seek alternative options such as out-of-hours GP services, local pharmacies or injury units. Information on nearby injury units is available on the HSE website, reports Breaking News.

Members of the public experiencing an emergency or life-threatening situation have been advised to contact the emergency services by calling 112 or 999.

MUH said they are “working diligently” to restore full services as soon as possible and confirmed that updates on reopening will be shared when available, reports Breaking News.
