The HSE have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with 16 private hospitals to provide extra beds during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In an announcement the HSE announced that an agreement has been put in place for the 12 months.
Under the agreement private hospitals will provide up to 30% in extra beds depending on the incidence rate of the virus.
It is understood that the HSE will also be able to request additional capacity under a mutual agreement with private hospitals.
