The Chief Executive of the HSE Paul Reid has confirmed that Covid-19 booster vaccines will be handed out to the over 60s from next week.
Speaking at the HSE briefing, Reid said that the programme will deliver 800,000 vaccines to those aged between 60 and 80.
Reid also said that there are older people being admitted to hospital with the average age of those testing positive now at 34.
