The HSE have confirmed that 135,000 people have registered for the Covid-19 vaccine.
In an announcement the HSE said vaccinations in this cohort will begin this week.
It is understood that there are 224,000 people aged 65 to 69 and they will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The HSE say they plan to have everyone within this age group as well as those aged 60 to 65 receive their first dose by the end of May.
