The HSE have issued a warning following rise in the number of deaths from influenza.
In figures published this week, the Health Service said that a total of 307 people have been admitted to hospital experiencing symptoms.
The HSE say a total of 8 people have died from the flu so far this season.
They added that numbers are expected to rise over the coming months with young children and the elderly being the most at risk.
