The HSE have confirmed that they hope to release a new contract tracing app by the end of the month.
Speaking about the app HSE chief executive Paul Reid said that app which will work via Bluetooth should be available by the end of May.
Reid says app data won’t be stored on a Government database but instead people’s phones.
It is understood the app is being developed with the assistance of Apple and Google.
