Mixed reaction to Harris saying that foreign holidays this year is ‘highly unlikely’

There has been a very mixed reaction to Simon Harris announcing that it’ll be highly unlikely that foreign holidays will happen this year.

Some are saying that if Ireland opens and the country that they want to travel to reopens that they should be allowed freely travel there, albeit with social distancing.

If you were planning on going on a foreign holiday this year, you may have to postpone it until 2021 and look closer to home to get a break.

Minister for Health Simon Harris has said that holidaying abroad this year is ‘highly unlikely,’ according to RTE.

The minister also warned that anyone coming into Ireland now, or in the near future, would need to self-isolate for 14 days.

Mr. Harris insisted that he’s mindful of a second wave of coronavirus later in the year, perhaps coinciding with flu season, which would have a devastating effect on the health system here.
