The HSE has stated that it will never ask for payment via text and is urging the public to remain vigilant.
People are advised never to provide their bank details or PIN to anyone over the phone or online, reports Breaking News.
Anyone who suspects a scam should contact HSELive on 1800 700 700 or report concerns to the gardaà if fraud is suspected.
The public is also encouraged to inform vulnerable friends or family about these scams and reinforce the guidance not to share banking information over the phone or online, reports Breaking News.
