The Health Service Executive (HSE) is warning that the number of syphilis infections continues to rise across the country.
According to the HSE, the vast majority of infections originate in counties Dublin, Kildare, and Wicklow.
Syphilis is a sexually-transmitted infection that is easily treatable in its early stages, but can lead to serious health complications if left untreated.
