Hundreds turn out to pay their respects as Jastine Valdez is laid to rest in her hometown

Murdered Filipino student Jastine Valdez has been laid to rest following a moving funeral ceremony on Monday.

Ms Valdez who was tragically killed after she was abducted in Enniskerry in Co Wicklow by Mark Hennessy six weeks ago, has been laid to rest by her family and friends.

In a ceremony that seen hundreds of people all dressed in white in attendance, Ms Valdez was buried in her home town of Aritao, which is located in the North of the Philippines.

Amongst many tributes mourners who came out to pay their respects all wore white clothing as Ms Valdez’s coffin was transported through the streets of her hometown.

There were also a number of other tributes as mourners placed flowers and released balloons to honour the memory of Ms Valdez.
