“I don’t like white people” were the words spoken by a black man immediately before he opened fire on a white family after their six-year-old daughter chased a baseball onto his front yard.

Jamie White of Gaston County, North Carolina alleged that as Robert Louis Singletary opened fire on his daughter, wife, and him, Singletary had shouted “I don’t even like white people.”

Mr White who was critically wounded as he shielded his daughter from the hail of bullets has thankfully survived and his daughter who was wounded in the face by shrapnel is also expected to make a full recovery.

Singletary made a run for it, but was tracked down in Florida and arrested. He was scheduled to appear in court in Hillsborough County on Friday, April 21st before he was extradited back to North Carolina to face attempted murder charges.

Many commentators have been quick to point out that, had roles been reversed and a white man had opened fire on a black family with a young child for no other apparent reason than the fact he “didn’t like black people” it would be world-wide news with protest, celebrity fundraisers and even the President speaking out on it.

As this incident involved a black man shooting a white family none of this took place.
