It’s been nearly 30 years since Top Gun became one of the highest grossing movies of all time. The film catapulted Tom Cruise to stardom pretty much overnight, and he has stayed there ever since.
The issue of a Top Gun sequel has been doing the rounds for several years now, surfacing every now and again, only to be sink back into development hell again.
But it has now been confirmed that a follow up to the 1986’s hit is going to happen, and will feature Tom Cruise, who will reprise his role as roguish Navy pilot Maverick.
With a screenplay being developed, the movie is said to reflect today’s air combat realities, featuring latest generation jets and a great emphasis on drones.
