Storm Alex is almost upon us, with very wet and windy conditions predicted for the next few days.
Heavy rain is set to arrive later this afternoon, with some hail showers likely.
Longer spells of rain are expected overnight across Leinster, Connacht, and Munster, with eastern areas being the worst affected.
The rain will clear by Friday morning, giving way to a drier and brighter day, with some scattered showers across Ulster, Connacht, and Munster.
Saturday and Sunday are expected to be rather miserable weather-wise, with heavy rain, strong winds, and temperatures of around 12-15C.
