India is demanding payments for losses caused by climate disasters, its environment ministry said as it outlined the country’s positions on critical issues to be negotiated at the UN climate change summit COP26 in the next month.
There should be compensation for the expenses incurred and this should be borne by the developed countries, claims senior ministry official Rameshwar Prasad Gupta.
He added that India was supporting other low income and developing countries on the issue.
