Indonesian passenger plane goes missing in Papua with 54 people on board

The aircraft was reportedly flying from Sentani Airport in Jayapura to the town of Oksibilin the south of the country.

According to local sources, contact with the plane was lost just before 3pm local time (6am Irish time.)

The passenger manifest lists 44 adults, five children and five crew on board.

Search operations have now been suspended due to poor visibility, and will resume tomorrow morning.
