Innocent Dublin man awarded €20,000 for falsely being accused of not paying for a jambon pastry

A Dublin man has been awarded €20,000 in damages for falsely being accused of not paying for a jambon pastry in a Centra shop in Blanchardstown in 2014.

The man is said to have being challenged upon leaving the shop for not paying for the pastry but when he was marched back into the shop he pointed out the cashier who he paid for the tasty treat.

He is understood to have gone through extreme embarrassment right on the spot as he was being stared, allegedly pointed at and talked about by other patrons.

After numerous correspondences weren’t replied to, the Judge, who clearly felt for the man’s embarrassment, awarded him €20,000 in damages.
