Fears grow for missing 25-yr-old mother and her newborn baby son as police re-issue appeal for social media sharing to help trace their whereabouts

Police in Liverpool are desperately searching for a missing mum and her newborn baby boy and have requested social media sharing in an effort to help trace their whereabouts.

25-yr-old Sophie Callaghan disappeared without a trace last Wednesday in Prescot, a suburb of Liverpool. She was with her 10-week-old baby boy Georgie Walmsley at the time and neither have been seen since.

Police are said to be franctically looking for the mother and child and many believe she has travelled to Ireland via a ferry from Liverpool or Wales by bus.

Sophie is from Toxteth, Liverpool, and is described slight build with dark brown, collar-length hair that is normally tied up in a knot and was possibly wearing leggings and a denim jacket, according to police.
Detectives said in a statement: “Police officers are making extensive efforts to find Sophie and return her home safely and would urge Sophie, anyone who knows her whereabouts or who has seen a woman resembling her to call police.”

Police can be reached by calling 0044151 777 2014 or via any garda station.
