Inspirational: Fr Tony Coote helps raise €450,000 for research after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone in March

In what can only be described as an inspirational piece on last night’s Claire Byrne Live, Fr Tony Coote spoke candidly about how he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in March.

Sadly, Fr. Tony, who is aged in his 50s and a very good squash player, lost his mobility in June this year.

However it hasn’t stopped him. His Twitter handle is ‘walkwhileyoucan’ and it means more than just physical as he managed to help raise a staggering €450,000 for Motor Neurone research.

Well done, Fr. Tony.
