Investigation underway after man dies after getting out of his car on M6 in Galway




A 50-year-old man was killed in a road accident near Athenry, Co Galway in the early hours of this morning, reports RTE.

A man got out of his car after one car accident and was then hit by a truck.

The accident happened at Ballygarroun West in Athenry around 5am.

The man’s body was taken from the scene to Galway University Hospital, reports RTE.

The truck driver, who is in his 50s, was not injured.

A technical inspection of the scene is underway and the road is closed with local detours, reports RTE.
