The White House was put on lockdown for a time late yesterday, after a man set himself on fire on the lawn outside the building’s perimeter.
It is understood that the man ignited himself and then walked calmly around before security officers rushed with fire extinguishers to put the flames out.
The man was rushed to hospital, where his condition is unknown at this time. An investigation is underway as to how the man managed to gain access to the lawn in the first place.
