Investigation underway after unnoticed asteroid thankfully misses Earth, with NASA claiming they ‘didn’t see it coming’

Ever see the film Armageddon? Well we’re lucky we didn’t need Bruce and the boys to get us out of a sticky wicket.

Planet Earth has narrowly avoided being struck by an asteroid that, according to NASA, ‘they didn’t see coming.’

Asteroid 2020 QG, a rock about the size of a family car, skimmed past Earth at a mere 1,830 miles over the Indian Ocean. In planetary terms, this distance is insignificant.

2020 QG’s size would have probably meant that the rock would have burned up in Earth’s atmosphere, so mankind will live to fight another day. For now.

But there are millions of asteroids hurtling to space, so a strike is only a matter of time.
