Ireland fail to qualify for the Eurovision yet again as Ukraine tipped to win the competition

Ireland’s Brooke Scullion lit up the stage at Turin’s PalaOlimpico in the second semi-final of the song contest but failed to secure a place in Saturday’s grand final.

The 22-year-old singer appeared to impress the crowd with her pop song That’s Rich, but didn’t make it to the final.

Ireland last qualified for the Eurovision final in 2018 with Ryan O’Shaughnessy and his song Together and still has the most winners in competition.

Scullion, drawing a huge reaction from the crowd when his song was released, put on a neat and energetic performance with his backing quartet of dancers, but in the end the vote didn’t go his way.

Meanwhile many feel that Ukraine are going to win the competition with many bookmarkers making them favourite.
