Ireland grab a point in dismal draw against Georgia

The Republic of Ireland have gotten a point after a 0-0 draw with Georgia in Tbilisi this afternoon.

In a match that was pretty much non-eventful the boys in green managed to keep their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign on track with a scoreless event.

Ireland who now have two games against Switzerland and Denmark, will be left looking back at two points dropped as the race to make the finals reaches its climax.

In a game of few chances John Egan came the closest to scoring as his header hit post early on.

However for the whole 90 plus minutes Mick McCarthy’s men looked completely sub-par, with the only bright spark being Aaron’s Connolly’s late introduction.

The Galway native who had two half chances gave hope for the future, but overall the match was a non-event that could potentially prove decisive in Ireland’s bid to reach the finals.
