Ms. Higgins has warned that the lawlessness displayed in the country over the last couple of weeks will damage Ireland’s international reputation and hamper our chances for foreign direct investment.
She referred to several incidents linked to the Irish Water debacle created by her own Government peers as examples of this downward spiral of civilized law and order, such as the siege on the Tánaiste’s vehicle in Jobstown or the death threats received by several members of the Government.
Speaking this morning, she said ‘I have no doubt that the lawlessness shown this past week will affect our international standing as a country and will absolutely damage our ability to attract jobs into the country.’
