Ireland is seeking legal advice over trade with Israel, says Harris

Regarding commerce with Israel, Taoiseach Simon Harris is consulting with legal counsel, reports Breaking News.

Simon Harris said he was writing to Irish Attorney General Rossa Fanning seeking “fresh legal advice” on the local options, even though he acknowledged that EU law governs international trade policy.

According to Mr. Harris, “every lever” has to be used to put as much pressure as possible on the Israeli government to announce an end to the bloodshed in Gaza.

The heads of Ireland’s three coalition parties agreed on Thursday to forgo additional defence and military contracts as well as equipment purchases from Israel, reports Breaking News.

Speaking on Friday, Mr. Harris stated that the course of action was “appropriate” in accordance with the International Court of Justice’s decisions.
