Ireland weather: Experts say parts of country are set for scorching heatwave

According to MetDesk’s weather experts, a blistering heatwave in continental Europe is expected to hit portions of Ireland next week with golden sunlight and temperatures above 20°C, reports The Mirror.

Seville is expected to see temperatures above 40°C next week, according to the most recent heatwave map released by MetDesk forecasts.

It is predicted that certain areas of Ireland may see late summer temperatures exceeding 20°C as a result of this Iberian blast moving over northern Europe.

Across the nation, Monday is mostly expected to be dry with highs of 18°C. Warmer weather is predicted to come on Wednesday, reports The Mirror.

Galway, the midlands, Sligo, Donegal, and Dublin are among the regions expected to have temperatures above 20°C, with the capital expected to experience a pleasant 23°C on Wednesday afternoon.

Sadly, Met Eireann reports that the remainder of the week is expected to be a washout, so the beautiful sunlight and milder temperatures are not expected to linger.

Overview: Mostly cloudy with occasional showers or rain, reports The Mirror.

It will start off mostly dry on Saturday night. Later in the evening, rain will begin to form in the west and move eastward. 8 to 11 degrees Celsius at the lowest points, with light to moderate to fresh southerly breezes.

Sunday is expected to be mostly gloomy with occasional heavy downpours across Ulster and north Connacht. The south will have lower amounts. Maximum temperatures between 15°C and 18°C, with moderate winds from the south to southwest, reports The Mirror.

Monday will primarily be dry with some bright or sunny intervals. On Monday night, a steady downpour is expected to begin in the west and move eastward across the nation.
