Ireland’s population in trouble? New figures show Ireland’s birth rate has fallen by close to 10%

There’s real concern among many social media users this week after new figures show a dramatic decrease in Irish population reproduction.

Central Statistics Officer figures show that Ireland’s birth rate has drastically fallen with 2019 marking nearly a 10% decrease year on year in terms of babies born in the country.

In the same period of time 6,666 Irish babies were killed their mother’s womb.

Pro-Life campaigners say that since ending an unborn child’s life was made legal via referendum the number of Irish babies being aborted is the main part of the reason for the fall in birth rates.

Something many Pro-Life activists warned about during the government, media and celebrity backed “Repeal the Eighth” campaign but were dismissed and condemned by promoted public voices.

Some social media users have been commenting that they believe it now means that Ireland’s fertility rate is well below replacement level at 1.6 while opening our borders to more migration and the inevitable demographic shift it entails is now the only option to keep this country funded with a youthful and working population.
