Ireland’s Rugby World Cup dream is over as they are outclassed by a superb New Zealand

Ireland’s hopes of lifting the Webb Ellis trophy are well and truly over as they were heavily beaten 46-14 by New Zealand.

In a game were Ireland hoped everything would come together, they were well and truly beaten by a New Zealand side that barely put a foot wrong.

Ireland who will have to go back to the drawing board were given a lesson and found themselves 22-0 down at half time as the Kiwis punished a number of costly mistakes by Ireland.

The game as a whole was put the bed early in the second half as Taylor and Todd scored two early tries to kill any hope of an Irish comeback.

Ireland who made two changes in the 60th minute claimed some consolation as Robbie Henshaw scored a try in the 69th minute.

They were then given a penalty try in front of the posts on the 76th minute.

New Zealand who fully deserved their victory now go on to play England in next week’s semi final.
