Ireland’s hopes of a consecutive Grand Slam were ended after England took the spoils in Dublin, winning 32-20 this evening.

In a game that was hard to call before kick off, England showed their metal and deservedly took the win as their fast paced defensive line stumped Ireland who were unable to control the game as they would have liked.

Ireland who will surely go back to the drawing board were left trailing within 90 seconds as Johnny May crossed the white wash.

Although Ireland took the lead following a penalty from Sexton and a try from Healy, they soon found themselves behind once again as Stockdale missed handled inside his own try area which Daly to touch down.

Ireland who looked the tempo in the second half were effectively killed off as England scored a questionable try through Slade even though their was a suspected forward pass beforehand.

The killer blow was decisive as Farrell added another penalty to put England out of sight and leave Ireland wondering what might have been.

Ireland did manage to pull a try back via Cooney, it was all too late as slade already made sure of the bonus point via Slade on the 76th minute.
