A hotel that deserves a perfect 10 for a guest might be just a 6 for another. And many factors can influence a reviewer’s criteria, but according to the Travel Smarts Study, by Agoda.com, there are some trends depending on nationality.
While the average hotel rating in the report (which went through more that 7 million hotel reviews) is 8,52 out of 10, it was noted that the most generous evaluations came from Russian guests (0.56 points higher than average), followed by Egyptians (0.47+) and Irish (+0.43).
Contrastingly, the most demanding and hardest to please were guests from Saudi Arabia (-0.32), followed by Japan (-0.30) and Oman (-0.29).
Americans and Chinese guests were also in the top 10 most positive reviewers, with +0.18 and +0.27 respectively.
