Irish Cancer Society calls for the immediate scrapping of parking charges for cancer patients attending hospitals nationwide

The Irish Cancer Society has called on hospitals nationwide to scrap parking charges for cancer patients.

The call comes after recent figures found that on average patients are spending up to €63 a week on parking.

The Society also found that a four hour stay in Tallaght Hospital in Dublin costs €10.

The Cancer Society says unnecessary charges are unfair and are adding extra stress to patients and their families.
