Irish Christmas Tree Growers Association expect to sell 550,000 Christmas trees which will bring in an estimated €21m to the economy




The country is set to make a festive profit over the coming month as it has been reported that some 550,000 Christmas trees will be harvested and sold to consumers

The news comes as the Irish Christmas Tree Growers Association (ICTGA) have said workers are currently working overtime to harvest and prepare the trees for selling, it is believed the 550,000 trees will bring in an estimated €21 million to the economy.

It is understood that up to 350,000 Christmas trees will be sold in Ireland throughout November and December, whilst a further 200,000 trees will be exported to European countries including the UK, Germany and France.
Meanwhile the ICTGA have said the Nordmann Fir and Noble Fir varieties are the most popular trees amongst buyers.
