It is understood that staff from the Irish consulate in the Brazilian capital Rio de Janeiro will visit Pat Hickey in prison today.
Mr. Hickey is currently being held at the notorious Bangu Prison on charges of ticket touting, and illegal marketing. He has denied any wrongdoing.
Today, the Olympic Committee of Ireland (OCI) has set up a ‘crisis management’ team to deal with the ongoing controversy regarding the illegal sale of tickets at exorbitant prices.
