The Irish Government have confirmed that they will allocate €1m in funding to help those affected by Cyclone Idai.
In an announcement both the Tánaiste Simon Coveney and the Minister for State Ciarán Cannon confirmed the donation, with both ministers saying the devastation caused by the cyclone is truly shocking.
It is understood the allocated funds will be distributed between the World Food Programme, Concern Worldwide, and the Red Cross.
The donation comes as the deadly cyclone is reported to have claimed over 1,000 lives after it swept through Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
