22-yr-old became Ireland’s first-ever taekwondo Olympian at Tokyo 2020 was attacked last night in Dublin city centre, by one of a group of people who threw a punch and caught the young man on the mouth.

Jack posted images to his Instagram account showing him sitting on the ground, covered in blood. He was taken to St James’s Hospital, where he said he will require plastic surgery to a lip wound.

He said a group of young people started randomly attacking people at the boardwalk and that he was on of the victims. They then shouted “sorry, wrong person” and ran off.
