Tonight is the night most MMA and boxing have been waiting for as Conor McGregor takes on Floyd Mayweather in the sporting event of the year.
But as the pair have made announcements over the past few months, there was final announcement from the McGregor camp today as UFC chief Dana White conformed that Imelda May will be gracing the event with her rendition of the Irish national anthem.
In a last ditch find for the role White confirmed that May will perform Amhran na bhFiann in front of the strong Irish crowd at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas later this evening.
Meanwhile May herself also confirmed her role via Twitter saying: “Here’s the news!”, “I’ve been asked to perform the National Anthem ahead of the #mayweathermcgregor fight in VEGAS!”
“Let’s go McGregor!!” she added.
Meanwhile Mayweather has confirmed that former Disney star Demi Lovato will sing the American national anthem.
