Irish Rail has issued a warning as scammers have been detected issuing ‘fines’ on some routes.
It is understood that some people wearing high-viz jackets are posing as ticket inspectors and asking people to pay a fine.
These scammers have so far been detected on the Northern commuter/DART line.
People are advised to always ask for ID if anyone approaches them to issue fines.
