Irish Refugee Council says close to 800 migrants are in Direct Provision because they have no accommodation in Ireland

In a report due to be released this week by the Irish Refugee Council, close to 800 migrants from across the world are living in Direct Provision centres around the country because there’s no accommodation for them in Ireland.

The report claims that the Irish Refugee Council is alarmed by the increase in the number of asylum seekers who are in emergency accommodation because Direct Provision is full in the country.

It fails to mention however that 10,000 of our own Irish people are sleeping on the streets, park benches and hotel rooms around the country, something that many social media users point out frequently when the topic of migrants appears.
