Irish Ryanair passengers warned to expect delays and disruptions today as workers strike

Irish Ryanair passengers have been warned of possible disruption to their flights due to a workers’ strike among air traffic controllers in France, reports The Mirror.

French Air Traffic Control (ATC) will strike again next Thursday for the fifth time this year, after its last strike on Tuesday.

Ryanair is once again calling on the EU Commission under President Ursula von der Leyen to step up and take immediate action to protect overflights, which will prevent thousands of European passengers from being disrupted during unnecessary ATC strikes in France.

Ryanair Director of Operations Neal McMahon said: “Even passengers who are not flying to/from France are impacted because they overfly French airspace, all the while French laws unfairly protect French domestic flights,” reports The Mirror.

“If the President of the EU Commission cannot protect European passengers and keep European skies open during these repeated French ATC strikes, then she should step down and make room for someone that will protect European citizens,” Mr McMahon stated, reports The Mirror.
