Irish summer (or lack of): Met Eireann issues Status Yellow warning for heavy rainfall




The national forecaster has this evening issued a Status Yellow weather warning for heavy rainfall.

The warning covers Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Westmeath, and the entirety of Connacht. It will remain in place between 8am and 8pm on Friday.

The forecaster talks of heavy downpours that may lead to localized flooding.

Temperatures will range between 16-22C.
