Earlier predictions of the hottest summer on record seem to have gone out the window pretty fast, as the current weather is anything but summer-like, at least by accepted summer weather standards.
There will be heavy rain moving northwards across the country this morning, accompanied by thundery downpours in places.
Some brighter conditions will develop later in the day, giving way to scattered showers. Temperature wise, the thermometer will reach 21C in some areas.
