An Irish-designed app, CareZapp, has earned a place in the finals of a well-known technology competition in the UK this week.
This new piece of homegrown technology has been described as a ‘Facebook for carers’, and it beat 500 other participants at the AOL-backed TechCrunch event in London.
CareZapp is now one of 16 finalists in line to win a €40,000 prize fund.
The free app connects the home, technology, and the community, and enables caregivers to create networks of care and connect with a range of services.
It is expected that around 10,000 people will use CareZapp over the coming year.
