Irish Water bill faces defeat in the Seanad

Seanad

The Government could face a well-deserved humiliating defeat next week when the Irish Water bill goes for voting in the Seanad.

The Coalition is in minority in the Upper House, so a vote defeat is quite possible. If this comes to pass, the Government will suffer a major setback and face even more chaos in relation to the Irish Water and water charges unmitigated disaster.

Losing the vote would certainly spell the end for water bills in January, as a defeat in the Seanad would delay the proper setup of Irish Water for months.
